With an advanced NanoXcel® hull – the lightest in its class – combined with the extraordinary power of a large displacement, 1.8 litre supercharged engine, thrilling acceleration and high-speed performance come as standard. A rounded keel and new bow shape transform cornering and handling performance as well as providing added comfort.
And clever telescopic steering allows you to carve hard in the classic lean-forward position, or make a quick adjustment in choppy water and ride standing up.

Unique telescopic steering
Water conditions can quickly change: the FZR has a telescopic steering column that lets you adjust your riding stance accordingly. Adopt the classic, attack-minded forward-leaning position; or stand up for extra ride comfort in choppy waters. Switching between the two positions is easy and quick.

Hyper-flow jet pump
The FZ Hyper-Flow jet pump propulsion system features a three-blade stainless steel impeller that is designed to maximise water flow. The pump configuration provides excellent hook-up and smooth acceleration, instantly converting raw power into usable propulsion.

Race-style cockpit
Revealing the racing spirit and true character of the FZR, two large, red-accented analogue meters provide a clear view of the watercraft's speed and RPM in a single glance: riders can really see the craft respond to the slightest touch of the throttle.

Remote security and low-RPM mode
With one click of the remote transmitter, engage the special "L" mode (low-RPM), easily limiting top speed and RPMs for increased fuel efficiency. Push a second button to disable the ignition, preventing accidental start-ups or unauthorised joyrides.

Yamaha Engine Management System (Y.E.M.S.)®
A computerised management system controls functions such as ignition timing, fuel injection mapping, engine diagnostics and off-throttle steering (OTS). OTS activates when the operator releases the throttle lever and attempts to steer the watercraft. This assists the operator in turning while the watercraft is decelerating.
